Notcher

Privacy

Last updated October 2026

Notcher is built so that your scripts and your voice stay with you. We don't run accounts, servers, ads or analytics.

Your scripts

Scripts and settings are stored locally on your Mac. They are never uploaded to us.

Microphone and speech recognition

Word tracking and voice-activated modes use your microphone and Apple's Speech framework. Where your Mac supports it, recognition happens on-device. On some configurations Apple may process audio to provide the service, under Apple's privacy policy. Notcher itself does not record or store audio.

Local network

The remote view and Director mode run a small server on your Mac so devices on your own network can view or control the prompter. It is only reachable on your local network and only while you enable it.
